The Olympic games started in 776 BC. They were held every four years what then was called Olympiad. The Greeks would have peace during the Olympic games. The Olympic games were always held in the summer.

Elize is a PE teacher at Kandinsky College who organized the games. Elize has been a PE teacher for 16 years. Elize: “I like that different classes are mixed together and most kids likes sports. Sport is good for your health, you make friends and you are relaxed after sporting”.

At the beginning of the day the kids gather at the grandstand. The people who choose to make flags for their classes needed to come forward. They walked (like the real Olympics) past the stand, waving the flags that they made.

Of course there was a first aid group, in case anyone was injured. They also needed to take care of the food and drink. Isabelle S choose to do the first aid; “I choose to do first aid because I had first aid on primary school and I really liked that”. And Isabelle T said, “I like this more than a normal day because now you can walk around and you are outside”.

At the end of the day, the results were announced. The winner was T1G! T1C was second and T1B was third.

Daan Friederichs is one of the standout participants, and I genuinely think he has a strong chance of winning because he performs like a beast in every event he takes on. His determination and focus really set him apart from the rest. At the same time, it’s great to see that everyone is giving their absolute best, which is what makes this event so special. It’s not just about winning, but about pushing yourself, improving your abilities, and enjoying the competition. Events like this are good for your health, both physically and mentally, and they also bring the community together in a positive way.

Another great aspect is the atmosphere surrounding the event. The weather is amazing, which makes everything even more enjoyable for both participants and spectators. You can really feel the energy and excitement all around. Everyone who participates also deserves praise for their effort, commitment, and sportsmanship.

There is a wide variety of sports included in this event, which makes it interesting and challenging for everyone involved. The activities include sprinting, where speed and explosive power are key; shot putting, which requires strength and technique; high jump and long jump, both testing agility, timing, and coordination; hurdles, which combine speed with precision; the 6-minute run, which challenges endurance and stamina; and whistle ball throwing, which adds a unique and fun element to the competition. Altogether, these events create a well-rounded and exciting athletic experience for everyone involved

The best thing about this event is that the whole tto 1st year of the Kandinsky College participates. I think this event is very fun to be part of. The Mentors also did a really great job at encouraging the people to keep going and I greatly appreciate them doing that.

A Day Full of Energy and Excitement

The final event was javelin, although a safe alternative was used: a special ball that made a whistling sound as it flew. This unique feature made the event especially fun and memorable for everyone.

The sports day ended with smiles, energy, and a strong sense of teamwork and achievement.
